- CASTING INFORMATION / PROCESS -

At Philippa Herbert we create beautifully crafted, high quality casts of baby hands and feet in bronze, silver, gold, glass and plaster. We can come to your home* to take the casts at a time to suit you and your baby or you can visit us*.
We will bring samples with us for you to look at, and, after you have decided which medium you would like, we will take casts of your baby’s hands or feet (or both) using a casting liquid. The liquid is perfectly safe for babies and children, and it captures every intricate and unique detail of their hands and feet. The whole casting process only takes a few minutes.
Casts will be ready approximately 18-20 working weeks after confirmation and payment for your order.  If you have a deadline, please let us know as soon as possible and we will try our hardest to meet it.  Please be aware that engraving and plating may take an extra 2-3 working weeks.
Packaged in an elegant presentation box, the finished article can be collected or delivered, by courier, to your home or work address.
We can also cast babies’ bottoms and pet paws.

*If you are based within central London there is no charge for us to come to your home, if you are based outside of central London we ask that reasonable travel expenses are covered by the client, please contact us to discuss
**Please note that if no order is made at the time of casting a casting fee of £100 per pair of hands or feet or holding hands will be charged to cover our time and casting materials. This charge will be taken off the total of your order when it is placed.
